Campus News At the 2025 China International College Students Innovation Competition, which concluded on October 15, a total of 4 projects from our university were recommended for the national competition. Among them, the project "Hydrogen Electric Engine — Supplier of 'Key Components' for High-Performance Hydrogen Fuel Cell Stacks" from the Graduate Entrepreneurship Group of the Main Higher Education Track advanced through fierce competition to the finals. Competing against teams from top universities across the nation, it secured a silver medal, marking the best historical achievement for our university in this competition. The project "Membrane Shield for Clear Waters — Novel Low-Cost, Long-lasting Antimicrobial Material for Water Treatment Membranes" from the Undergraduate Creativity Group of the Main Higher Education Track entered the "Bronze to Silver Award" review process. The projects "Fin-Guided Intelligent Grinding — Innovative Design and Application of Biomimetic Grinding Wheels for Micro/Nano Precision Manufacturing of Tungsten-Cobalt Hard Alloys" from the Graduate Creativity Group of the Main Higher Education Track and "Aqua-Light Intelligent Control — Spectral Monitoring and Intelligent Regulation System for High-Density Aquaculture Water Bodies" from the Creativity Group of the "Youth Red Dream Building Journey" Track both received bronze awards.

According to statistics, over 8,000 students from our university participated in this year's competition. Since the competition launched in March, the university's Party Committee and administration have attached great importance to it and made careful arrangements. The Academic Affairs Office took the lead in organization, with relevant functional departments actively coordinating and cooperating. By integrating internal and external resources, multiple rounds of specialized training and mock roadshows were conducted for the participating project teams. Experts from both inside and outside the university were invited for evaluation and guidance, achieving refined coaching and providing all-round support throughout the preparation process. At the 2025 Hunan Provincial Finals of the China International College Students Innovation Competition, 7 projects from our university advanced, winning 1 gold award, 4 silver awards, and 2 bronze awards.

Our university has consistently integrated innovation and entrepreneurship education throughout the entire talent cultivation process, emphasizing the development of talents with applied research and practical capabilities. Leveraging high-level competitions such as the China International College Students Innovation Competition, the university actively promotes the deep integration of innovation and entrepreneurship education with disciplines, scientific research, and social services, fostering an educational atmosphere that "promotes learning through competition, promotes teaching through competition, and promotes innovation through competition."

It is reported that the 2025 China International College Students Innovation Competition was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and 11 other ministries and commissions. With the theme "I Dare to Venture, I Can Create" and the overarching goals of being "More Chinese, More International, More Educational, More Comprehensive, More Innovative, and More Collaborative," the competition attracted 6.19 million projects with 24.43 million participants from 5,673 universities across 161 countries and regions worldwide, achieving full coverage of the world's top 100 universities. It has become an important platform for promoting scientific and technological exchanges and youth cultural exchanges between China and other countries.
